lomography loves indonesia: a photo exhibition

on saturday i went to the opening night event of the lomonesia’s LOMOGRAPHY LOVES INDONESIA exhibition, at grand indonesia, first floor east mall. the familiar jakarta traffic and rain hampered me for a while but as i made my way through the amazing crowd i realized it was well worth it…
the crowd that turned up was, first of all, wonderfully crazy. it was a lovely surprise to see the great amount of growing support for the analogue camera community in jakarta. while i can’t call myself an active member, it was a great spectacle, very rewarding, and most of all just fun to see all the friends, old and new.
featured here are some pictures i took during the trees & the wild performance (which was wicked cool), unfortunately (and shamelessly) with a phone camera instead, because i’ve run out of my film stocks…

apparently the largest lomo exhibition in indonesia yet, featuring 50 artists and 700+ photos. judging by the crowd… might just be the most successful one yet. visuals by lomonesia visual jockeys during the trees and the wild performance. top: a cropped part of my sunday upmarket set. apparently a favorite. thanks :D another one of mine entitled the beach steps, taken in karma kandara beach, a year ago. bottom left: trafalgar square at midnight, july 2009, london. lomonesia’s LOMOGRAPHY LOVES INDONESIA photography exhibition runs from feb. 20th to 28th, everyday from 12.00 - 21.00. closing event will be held on the 28th, opens for public. all free :) for more info: lomonesia.multiply.com or twitter: lomonesia.
